Practice makes perfect...

...although I don't think it is perfection that I am after. I have spent too much of my life trying to be perfect and avoiding doing anything new for fear of screwing it up (as most beginners do) and looking bad. So, I wrote my first online content article today as a practice run to develop my voice and sense of style. It has been a while since I have really written anything of length or something non-academic for that matter. But I nailed my butt to my desk chair and hammered out an article. It felt good to finally put pen to paper, especially since I had allowed myself to get paralyzed by my own fear. The best way to start writing is to just start. It doesn't matter what it is about or where it appears. Start small and let your momentum build.

Whoo-hoo! I hope the nails you used to hammer yourself to your chair didn't hurt coming out... :-)
This is the first article of oh-so-many!
I'd say doing what you are doing is as perfect as we can get. Keep on truckin', mama!
